Claude Weisbuch, Ph.D.
Co-founder and chief scientist
PhD in physics, graduated from Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris. He is now a CNRS research director and a Distinguished Professor at the University of California at Santa Barbara . He has been the chief scientist at the French Ministry of Defence and has worked previously at Bell Laboratories in the US, Saint-Gobain and Thomson-CSF in France.

François X. Desforges, Ph.D.
President

Dr. Desforges has been the President of Genewave since January 2008. Dr. Desforges is responsible for the overall company goals and strategy. Along his position at Genewave, Dr. Desforges is also the President of an international service company and is a regular board member for other companies. He served in other leadership positions at Photonetics Inc, including General Manager of its US Subsidiary, where he managed all aspects of marketing, sales, manufacturing, communications, customer and technical support for the US market. He holds a M.S. degree in Optics and Signal Processing from the University of Orsay and a PhD in Electronics from the University of Limoges (France).

Houtaï Choumane, Ph.D.
CEO

Dr. Choumane joined Genewave in October 2002 as one of its first employees. He participated in the development of the company first products and led the Lab-On-a-Chip (LOC) department. Between March 2006 and August 2007, Dr. Choumane worked for the European Commission and participated in one of its integrated projects aiming at developing Biosensors for HealthCare. In August 2007 he was appointed as VP-Operations of Genewave and became its CEO in January 2008. He holds a M.S. degree and a PhD in Optics and Photonics from the University of Orsay (France).
